Yay, a vacation. Who doesn't enjoy a good vacation? Sophia Carlton was enjoying this family vacation. They were in Los Angeles, California and the weather was pretty good. It was hot sure, but nothing compared to the desert heat of Nevada that was present nearly year round. Seriously, it's unbearable there. She didn't want to go back. Ever. It was something she expressed earlier to her aunt and go told no in that disappointed manner even if she laughed a bit while saying it. Sophia didn't how anyone could find that humorous. She was trying to be serious. She hated that place and wanted to stay here. Being treated so childishly there left her a bit hurt. Okay, so it wasn't the best vacation.
They were at the beach and she had been trying to build a sandcastle but it wasn't going very well. The tide was high and the sand wasn't holding well. Sophia didn't want to move. She liked this spot. Aww, can't the water just let up some for a little bit. She was almost done and if she just had a few minutes this sandcastle would be built. "Come on. I can do this. I can do this." was what repeatedly went through her mind for the sake of motivation as she forged on with these efforts. Another bucket was filled and brought over to the work in progress and as she began to place it on something came out of the ground right next to her.
"Aaahh, why are you here?" she asked panicked at the sudden appearance of this thing. Seriously, why was he here? She kept the vacation as much a secret from this guy as possible. How was she found?
"Were you just going to leave me alone?" it asked in an echoey voice. During its time on this planet, Sophia was the only one he'd met that could see him at all times. That's why he followed her around so often. It felt the need to have its presence be known. Such a strong need it was too. If only there were more that were aware of it. More that could recognize this existence. That would make things so much better. Hopefully they don't turn out to be mere simpletons who think of him as merely something to fight against because it makes them feel worthwhile. No, people of actual interest were vastly preferred. But, where would they be found?
"Yes, now go away." she said as the bucket was thrown at the strange creature to no avail as it simply phazed through it. Sophia got up and said "I don't want you here. Go away." before walking away to try and get away from it again. She didn't even bother to see if she was being followed. Thankfully, that was not the case. Sophia strolled up the beachfront area and was excited when she found an ice cream shop. She quickly entered and made her way to the counter to order an ice cream cone. It wasn't til after she made the order that she realized she had no money on her.
